It is the policy of the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities (referred to as the Board) to have a Risk Management Plan. The purpose of the Plan is to promote quality services and manage risk effectively. The Board will protect itself against accidental loss or losses that would significantly affect the Board’s personnel, property, its budget, or its ability to continue to fulfill its responsibilities. Overall, the goals of our risk management strategy are to have procedures in place to:-
- Integrate risk management into the culture of the organization.
- Manage risk in accordance with best practice.
- Fully document major threats and opportunities.
- Clearly identify risk exposures.
- Implement cost effective actions to reduce risks.
- Ensure conscious and properly evaluated risk decisions.
The Board is exposed to many risks in the course of daily operations. Most fall into one of the following categories:
- General Liability
- Professional Liability
- Employee Liability
- Property Loss
- Vehicle Related Loss
- Contractual Liability
- Business Loss
- Loss of Reputation
- Business Continuity and/or Cyber-Liability
The Risk Management Plan identifies risks and procedures for minimizing risks for each of the categories. This plan should include risks identified in the computer security risk analysis specified in Policy 2500.01.01 Security Management Process. The Risk Management Plan is modified as needed, whenever a risk occurs, as additional areas of risk are identified, and in order to reduce risk.
It is the Board’s policy for every employee to act to reduce risk of accidental loss or injury to the greatest extent feasible, consistent with carrying out the Board’s mission of helping people with disabilities to shape their own future, while recognizing that for every individual there is a right to experience life and take some risk.
