Lindsey Ein was expecting her last meeting with the Clermont County Safety Net Alliance to be just like any other meeting—a time for networking with other nonprofit representatives, a keynote speaker or two about options for those less fortunate in the county, etc. Instead, she found the only thing on the meeting agenda was the announcement of a new website for the Safety Net Alliance and an entire program to honor Lindsey for her years of leadership and service as she moves on to the next chapter in her life—retirement.
Lindsey was the Executive Director of InterParish Ministries in Newtown for ten years. Prior to that, she held positions with the Cincinnati Symphony, Alzheimer’s Association, and the University of Kentucky to name a few. Her desire has always been to help others.
“We are so grateful to have had Lindsey in our lives all these years,” said Brandon Little, pastor of Landmark Ministries. “When we had the first conversations about starting the Safety Net Alliance, Lindsey was the one who believed in the idea and kept persevering until it became a reality.”
The Clermont County Safety Net Alliance is a collaboration of social service agencies and other entities committed to providing effective and efficient emergency assistance to Clermont County residents in need. This collaboration gives agencies the opportunity to meet with faith-based groups to learn what needs exist in the county and how the various groups can join with local businesses to meet these needs. Quarterly meetings are held throughout the year, with Executive Committee meetings held each month. Lindsey served as a member of the Executive Committee since the Safety Net Alliance’s inception in 2012 and was humbled by her farewell party at her last meeting.
“As I look around and see so many people who started this journey with us, I see new people among the crowd, too. I am just so proud,” said Lindsey. “All I did was share an idea of collaboration and connection, and everyone jumped on it.”
Although many people shared their memories of Lindsey and how she assisted them to become part of a community-wide collaboration to serve those in our county with a specified need, Ein kept saying over and over that she just had “an idea…lots of people helped make it become a reality.”
Lindsey will be retiring to Louisiville, Kentucky, where she and her husband will reside. In true fashion, Ein asked for very few things on her last day with the Safety Net Alliance.
“The best gift you can give me is to keep this Alliance going,” said Lindsey.
