At the April 26 meeting of the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Jennifer Neal of Miami Township was recognized for her volunteer services over the years.

Neal has been a member of the Wildey School PTO since it was created.  She stepped up to become the President and has assisted the school with fundraisers to purchase equipment and support students in many ways.

Neal is the mother of four; her twin daughters receive services from CCDD and attended the Wildey School.  It was her dream in the 2016-17 school year to produce a prom for students who have special needs.  The first event was held on May 6, 2017 at the Leming House in Miami Township.  Neal planned everything from decorations to volunteers that helped with the evening, to special food for the students as well as their chaperones.  Over 40 students attended.  It was so well received, Neal planned a second prom that took place this year on May 5, 2018.

At the CCDD Board meeting, Neal was presented special gifts from Wildey Principal Jay Williams.  Although she will be stepping down as President of the PTO, Neal remains committed to assisting children and adults with disabilities to lead meaningful lives.  She plans to be part of the planning process for the 2019 Prom, as well as other special projects for the future.
