Celebrating 50 Years

The Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCDD) is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.  To recognize the milestone, they are planning a free Summer Celebration on Saturday, August 19, at the Batavia Township Community Park.

From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., there are several activities planned that include an early morning classic car cruise in, kids fishing derby, games and balloon artists from the Cincinnati Circus, and many vendors from the Clermont County area.  The Kona Ice Truck will be on hand, as well as fire/EMS vehicles to tour.

Anchor Fitness by Leah will present a Fitness Bootcamp at 9:30, and performers from Music Therapy Services will entertain at 10:30.  Elsa and Anna from “Frozen” will make several appearances throughout the morning.

To recognize CCDD’s 50th Anniversary, a picnic luncheon is planned from 1-3 p.m. and features staff recognition through the decades with a “walk down memory lane” from former administrators, board members, and individuals served.  The luncheon will be catered and sponsored by Jet’s Pizza.

Additional sponsors of the event include Buckeye Health Plan, Adamson Fire Protection, and SECO Electric.

The CCDD 50th Anniversary Summer Celebration will be held Saturday, August 19, at Batavia Township Community Park, 1535 Clough Pike.  Cruise in, festival games, and fishing tournament is scheduled from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; the CCDD 50th Celebration Picnic will be from 1-3 p.m.  The celebration is free to the public.
